“Today’s a pretty great day,” says the Duchess of Sussex in a teaser clip from an “historic backyard chat” with feminist icon Gloria Steinem. Meghan, who appears to have hosted Steinem in the garden of the new home she shares with Prince Harry and their son Archie in Montecito, California, sat down with the activist for a Q&A filmed by the Makers platform.

It’s no wonder the Duchess was excited. Ever since she entered the spotlight, Meghan has worn her feminist credentials on her sleeve. During a charity visit with Harry in Bristol in February last year, Meghan took the unusual-for-a-royal step of scrawling inspirational messages on bananas inside care packages destined for sex workers in the city. And during the couple’s first overseas royal tour, the Duchess chose to make the importance of girls’ education the subject of a solo speech she delivered in Fiji.
Their full conversation is still to come, but in the preview clip, the two women discuss the importance of voting as a deeply divided US hurtles towards a presidential election in November. “People forget how hard women like you and so many others before you fought for us to just be where we are right now,” the Duchess tells Steinem, whose efforts to get the Equal Rights Amendment ratified in the US recently became the subject of the Emmy-nominated TV show, Mrs America. “If you don’t vote, you don’t exist,” Steinem replies. “It’s the only place where we’re all equal, the voting booth.”

It has not been revealed where the discussion was filmed, but all the signs (including the cute cameo from Meghan and Harry’s dogs, Guy and Pula), suggest Steinem visited Meghan at the Sussex family’s new California base. The Duchess certainly looked right at home – the royal was the picture of laid-back summer style in breezy Anine Bing trousers, Stella McCartney sandals, and a straw hat by Janessa Leone.
Steinem also tells Meghan at the start of the clip: “Welcome home. I’m so glad that you’re home.” The Duchess, who after a stint out of the spotlight following the family’s relocation has been making her voice heard again with carefully chosen charity engagements and remote appearances, replies: “Me too. For so many reasons.”
梅根在自家院子十分放松，身穿休闲服极为享受。白色T恤搭配浅色竖条纹阔腿裤，与一顶法式遮阳帽搭配起来充满夏日感，休闲的穿搭也会给人一种放松的感受。一脚踩在凳子上很是悠闲大气。
